The Virtual Merchant

You might work nine to five, or perhaps midnight to eight. You may even work such odd hours that advanced mathematicians couldn’t write a formula describing your schedule. Still, no matter how many hours you put in, you simply cannot be there every hour of every day that your customers may want to order from you. But the Virtual Merchant can be there.

24 Hours a day, seven days a week, the Virtual Merchant is ready to take orders for your products. You customers can enter their customer number, the ID for the product they want to buy, and their credit card information. In her Virtual Merchant guise, Genie will verify and charge their credit card, and then email you the order. Genie will even have the caller record a spoken verification of the order, which can also be emailed so that you can keep it on file. 

Balances

For each subscriber of the Universal Office, Genie can maintain two separate and distinct account balances.  All subscribers have at least one of these two account balances, while only certain subscribers have the other.

'Dial Tone' Balance

CURRENT BALANCE – All Genie subscribers have this balance figure on their account.  When you ask Genie to tell you your “current balance”, this is what she reports back to you.  This is the account balance used to pay for all the regular Genie services, such as making and receiving calls, sending faxes, conference rooms, and so forth.  This balance goes down as you use services and is recharged from your credit card(s) on file based on your established “floor limit” (how low should this balance be allowed to go) and “recharge amount” (how much should Genie add when it is time to add more).

Virtual Point of Sale Balance

VIRTUAL MERCHANT BALANCE – Only some accounts have the Virtual Merchant feature, which is used to sell goods and services over the phone, using a Genie office.  Only Easytel Customer Services can enable this feature, either for an individual account or for a special group of accounts.  The Virtual Merchant Balance is based on credit card charges made when people purchase goods or services using your Virtual Merchant credit card processing feature.  As people buy from you, the balance increases by the amount they charge to their credit card, minus a processing fee of 5% and 50 cents per transaction.

'Pay Me'

The Pay Me feature is a way for you to take extra money sitting in one of your Genie Account Balances, and move that money to your credit card, for you to then use in any way you wish.  Genie only requires that each balance have a minimum of $100 in it before you can use the PAY ME option.  In either case you may “withdraw” any amount above $100, and Genie will credit that amount to your primary credit card, which Genie has on file..

'Pay Me' from the Current Balance

 When your Current Balance goes over $100, you can ask Genie to transfer some or all of that excess to your primary credit card.  You can do this either on the Internet or by calling Genie with your proper access codes.

To access this feature by phone, dial your Genie number.  When Genie answers press the star (*) key, enter your password, and press pound (#), just as you would to check your messages.  From the menu choose option 7, to “hear your balance or to recharge your account immediately”.  After you press 7 Genie will tell you how large a balance “you have left on your Universal mailbox account”, and read you several options.  If that balance was larger than $100, one of those options will be, “To credit the available easytip balance to your credit card press 2.”   If you then press 2, Genie will ask you how much to send to your credit card.

 

'Pay Me' from the Merchant Balance

Here again, anytime your balance goes over $100, you may ask Genie to transfer the excess to your credit card.  However, this transfer is only available by phone.

To access this feature by phone, dial your Genie number.  When Genie answers press the POUND (#) key, followed by the STAR (*) key, followed by the POUND (#) key again.  Genie will than ask for your password followed by the POUND (#) key.  (This is a special sequence ONLY for Virtual Merchant subscribers, and NOT the same one you would use to check your messages.)

As soon as you have signed in this way, Genie will offer you the Virtual Merchant Balance Pay Me options.
