The Universal Office charges a flat monthly fee of $30 to maintain your Universal Office Account and Universal DeskTop for you.

All your Universal Office services are billed as you use time on the system. That time may be used for outgoing calls, for incoming calls on toll free lines, or for time in a conference room. Here’s how it works:

Any time you make an outgoing call through the Universal Office (such as using the system as you would a calling card), or anytime Genie makes a call on your behalf (such as delivering an Audio-Gram, a Fax-o-gram, or transferring a call to you), you are charged the base rate of 4 cents per minute state-to-state and 8.9 cents a minute in state.  The 4 cent per minute rate applies if the call is made to anywhere in the United States or Canada (including Alaska and Hawaii), or to Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Whenever someone calls your Universal Office from any of those same places using a toll free number (800, 888 or 877), you are also charged the base 8.9-cent per minute rate.

Finally, you are charged 4 cents a minute for each caller you have participating in a conference call.

The Floor Limit & Recharge Amounts

When you pay for your Universal Office by credit card, as most customers do, Genie can keep watch over your account so that you don’t run out of money for services. Whenever the amount of service you have available drops below your "floor limit" (usually $15), Genie will process a charge to your credit card for your pre-set "recharge amount" (usually $25), and add that amount to you available funds for service.

For many customers, the $15 floor limit and $25 recharge amount work very well. However, if you expect to use a great deal of service – perhaps you have a big sales promotion under way and expect hundreds of calls per day – you might want to consider changing these amounts.

You can change your floor limit and recharge amount at any time, by sending a message to customer service at service@easytel.net.  Be sure to include you First Name, Last Name, Universal Office Telephone Number and the amounts you wish to set for the floor limit and recharge amount.

Paying by Check

You can pay for the Universal Office by check.  MAKE THE PAYMENT TO EASYTEL.  Simply send your check to:

Be sure to include your Universal Office Telephone Number on the check. Your account will be credited the day we receive your check. But remember that if you pay by check, Genie can’t automatically recharge your account for you if your funds drop too low.

Paying by Credit Card

You can pay by credit card at any time. Just access your Genie by entering your passcode to your Universal Office, and select Option 7 from the service menu. Genie will tell you how much you have available in your account, and then allow you to make a credit card payment on line.

If you have been paying by check and want to start automatic credit card billing, you will need to contact Customer Service (service@easytel.net). Be sure to include your First Name, Last Name, Universal Office number and credit card information.

The ‘Low on Funds’ Message

When you get the first message from Genie, telling you that you are low on funds, do NOT delete the message. What happens is that, whenever an event occurs which would create a charge against your account (such as an incoming or outgoing call), Genie first checks to see that you have funds available. If you do, the call is made. If you do not, Genie then checks to see if there is already a message about your funds in your mailbox. If there is no low-funds message in your mailbox, Genie puts one there.

Re-charge your account before you delete that first low-funds message, and Genie won’t mistakenly send you repeated messages.

Cancellation of Service

To cancel your service (and we hope you won’t), you MUST do so in writing. Send an email, fax or letter to Customer Service (service@easytel.net).  Be sure to include your First Name, Last Name and Universal Office number.
