Genie as a Pre-Paid Calling Card

Your Universal Telephone Number integrates all the features of traditional pre-paid calling cards.  We just eliminated the card.  You no longer need a separate calling card. To make telephone calls, you only need your Universal Telephone Number.  Dial your local or toll-free number, enter your password, press the 5 key to indicate you want to make outbound calls, and then dial the same way as with any other pre-paid calling cards. To make additional calls, just press ## (pound, pound).

Just as with all pre-paid calling cards, the charges for calls are deducted from your pre-paid balance. Unlike any regular calling card, though, when your balance dips below a pre-set floor limit (which you decide), Genie will give you the option of recharging manually or automatically. Automatic recharging takes place on an "as needed" basis and you are always notified of the amount, the day and time that your account has been recharged. No unpleasant surprises lurk at the end of the month.

For the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and all American territories, the state-to-state price per call is 4 cents a minute.  For Canada, and much of Western Europe, the price is 8.9 cents a minute.  Intra-state calls are also 8.9 cents a minute.  (See Rates for more details.)  [link to rates]

To Make A Phone Call

1. Access your Genie
2. Press 5 for an outside phone line
3. Enter the phone number you wish to dial
4. Wait for Genie to dial and connection
5. NOTE: To make a another call DO NOT HANG UP, simply press ## and to return to Genie

Recording Out-going Calls

 You can record any out-going call anytime, by pressing * (star) 7.  Before you place any call, Genie will announce this feature.  When you do record a call, the call can be (at most) 10 minutes in length.  The call will be sent directly to your email*. 

* Many free email accounts will not accept files larger than a certain size.  As a result, occasionally the email that Genie sends to you will not accommodate the size of a recorded call of any substantial length of time.  However, you can also retrieve the recorded call from www.universaloffice.tv.

Detailed Call Reporting

You can automatically receive a complete call detail report via fax or email.  You get a detailed record of the activity showing all the services, telephone calls, time, date, duration and cost of each call, and even the Automatic Number Identification (ANI) of incoming calls.  This automatic report can be generated once a month, for record keeping purposes, or daily to let you follow hot leads.

But the call detail report is also available any time during the month, whenever you need it.  Call anytime, twenty-four hours a day and ask Genie to fax you a call detail report for the month to date or the previous month.  The call detail report is delivered within minutes as a fax document or email.
